feel the light shining in the dark of the night | Aria never gave up hope that Neal would come and rescue her. She knew he would find a way, despite what the clock guy had told her. She just knew it, in her bones, that she could trust him more than she could trust anyone else. She was just sitting there, in her room, during lock down times, staring out the little window in her room. She wanted to get out of here so bad. She wanted to be where the people were. She wanted to be part of the world she saw outside her window. But she couldn’t. She was trapped here. She had tried to escape. And one time she actually managed to escape, she met Neal. And that day was burned into her memory forever. She finally found someone who she actually genuinely felt like she cared for. Not even her parents did she care for, not really. She wanted them happy, yes, but not like she wanted to make Neal happy. Not like she wanted to make Neal proud of her.
And then it happened. A man suddenly appeared in her room. He said that he was there to free her and bring her Neal (he almost called Neal something else, but Aria decided that it was just an accident). And then, she was somewhere else. She was in a different place entirely and Aria almost felt sick for the first few moments. The man was no longer there, and she was standing in the middle of some room with a bed. Where was she? Was this a dream? Were they testing her like they tested the clock guy? Aria looked around worriedly, and climbed onto the bed and squished herself into the corner. She looked around at the entire room, wondering what had happened, but then she found it in herself to stand back up.
A door. She saw a door. If she could open it… Aria took a deep breath and tried to summon all of the courage she could. Her hand was on the door knob and she opened it. A closet. That was what the door was for. But then she looked to her left and saw another door. Would there be another closet? There was only one way to find out. Aria slowly approached the second door, taking deep breaths as she reached for the knob that laid upon the door.

Say hello to all my little nightmares They're right here, I know them well Life since Neal had gotten to Storybrooke had been rather strange to say the least. He'd come strictly to keep an eye on his father with the small, hidden hope that he could repair things with Emma. Strangely enough, things were turning out not to be as simple as they seemed. He'd met Emma again by the docks, but it hadn't quite gone how he'd expected it to. Neal was supposed to be protecting the world from the horrible creature that was his father, but his father was actually helping him. Well, at least it seemed that way. There still could have been some not necessarily good motives behind it, but Neal had no choice but to trust him. Unfortunately, his help was taking much longer then he would have wanted. He was supposed to free Wendy, and he should have been able to do that by now. Time and time again Neal had to stop himself from visiting her, knowing that letting them know what he looked like would be a bad idea. If he had to spring her himself later, he'd want to be as secretive as possible. He was working on a back up plan in case his father fell through. Unfortunately, Wendy would have to stay hidden if his father ended up failing him. He was always failing him.
A bag of groceries in one arm, he dug for his keys within his jacket pocket. When he finally grabbed hold of them, he jammed them in the door and turned them, unlocking it. With that, he opened it a little and jammed his foot in the door while shoving his keys back into his pocket and pushing open the door with his elbow. When the door was open, and he looked up, Neal's eyes widened. "Wendy?" He dropped the bag and flung his arms around her. "...How...? Did... my father do this?"
How had she ended up in his apartment? Even if she ran away again, he doubted many people would have been able to help her find his place. Besides, the door was locked. How did she even get in? The entire thing was just plain odd. | | 335 words | Sorry, my Neal is very rusty. |

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | Aria quickly retreated from the door when she heard rustling on the other side. Oh no. She was going to get caught. She was going to get caught outside the asylum and she was going to be brought back and tortured and hurt like the clock guy did. She didn’t even get to say good-bye to her language of the clocks tutor. And! And she promised to take him with her. But she didn’t. She would’ve if she had the chance, but the guy who had taken her didn’t leave any time for her to even say anything in response. Though she did get to see the man’s face, but his voice was haunting. Like she knew it from somewhere. But it wasn’t like he was the guy who had kidnapped her before, though he had a bit of the face and the voice sounded not all that different (still different though, quite different, just not as different as Neal sounded when compared to her kidnapper).
When Neal opened the door, Aria’s eyes widened and she didn’t know what to do until Neal flung his arms around her. “Neal!” Oh she was so happy to see him. That meant that Neal did get her out. That guy, that guy was sent by Neal. Wait hold on. He said something about his father… Could that man have been Neal’s dad? He didn’t look like he was too young to be Neal’s dad, so it was possible. But Neal said that his dad wasn’t a good man, and a good man wouldn’t help her. Aria then began to wonder how exactly she got out. One second she was watching out the window, and without the door even opening, the guy was there, and then she was here, the guy nowhere to be seen.
“I don’t know who… who saved me. He just showed up and then suddenly I was here. It was like… magic.” If of course magic existed, but Aria didn’t think it did. Even if she wanted it to be real. Because who wouldn’t want to just have something appear magically when they wanted it?

Say hello to all my little nightmares They're right here, I know them well "Magic?" After hugging her for a good, long moment, Neal finally retreated. He put a hang on his head, and his smile disappeared, though internally he couldn't help himself from being happy about this. About her being here. "That's impossible. There's no magic here..."
After thinking about it for a moment, Neal wondered if this had anything to do with the purple smoke that seemed to of rolled through out the town. "What a minute..." Oh no. Did this mean what he thought it meant? Had his father found a way to regain his power? Had he been too late? "Wen- Aria. Was it like magic? Or was it actually magic?" He was really hoping she'd be able to figure out the difference.
There would be a really good side to his father having magic again and a very, very bad side. The up side was that it would be much easier for him to help Wendy regain her memories. Magic potions could be worked on, or so he assumed. The extremely bad thing was that everyone in the town would be in danger. His father was the dark one. Magic would only tempt him further, even if it was him who'd done a good deed. No matter how many changes Neal was actually beginning to believe he was going through, he'd still be consumed by the darkness once again. There was nothing that could be done about that. To make matters worse, another child was going to have to go through what he'd gone through. At first, he had just sort of thought the child was going to be his replacement. After a while, he'd thought maybe, just maybe, his papa could do better with that woman along side of him. His own mother had never helped situations which he'd figured out as he'd gotten older. Now, however, he doubted even Belle would be able to contain the dark one well enough for that child to grow up happy.

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | No magic here? There was something wrong with Neal and Aria wanted to know why. He seemed happy enough when he first opened the door, so why did he seem like something had gone wrong? She was here, he lived up to her word. The man obviously was sent by Neal, or she would be somewhere else instead of in Neal’s room. Aria still wasn’t sure if it was Neal’s dad, but he seemed to think it was, especially with the weird stuff going on around how exactly she got here. Maybe… just maybe magic was real.
And what Neal was saying solidified this idea in her head. He was worried that it was actually magic. But… but… what if he thought she was crazy like everyone else and this was a test. If she told him that it could have been magic, then he might bring her back. She didn’t want to think that Neal would do that to her, but it was a possibility still. Everyone thought she was crazy, why wouldn’t Neal? But if Neal believed that she belonged in there, then maybe she really did. The only thing she had been holding onto was Neal and his promise to get her out of there. He was the only one who seemed to believe in her, the only one who seemed to really care about her. She just had to suck it up and tell Neal what she really thought.
“I don’t… think magic is real, but it really seemed like it could have been… magic.” She was still very careful how she said it, just in case Neal changed his mind and sent her back because it could have been magic in her mind. “I-I was just in my room on second and then… then he appeared by the door and I was here.” Maybe the guy drugged her and that’s why she didn’t remember anything between the time in her room until now. But… that didn’t feel right. When she had been drugged in the past by the nurses, it felt a lot different, she wasn’t just suddenly awake. This was different. She was sure that hadn’t happened… probably. But then what could it have been otherwise? Magic. It made logical sense if one was open to the idea of magic.

Say hello to all my little nightmares They're right here, I know them well "Appeared." Neal knew it just by her explanation. It had to be magic. "I can't lie and say I'm not worried. Magic is a very bad thing, and it always comes with a price." That meant that if his father had used magic to free her, there must have been strings attached. There was bad to be uncovered here. Something had to go wrong. This was supposed to be a happy moment, and yet, magic was ruining it. Magic ruined everything. It killed him to know that magic was going to have to be involved for uncovering her memories. The conflicting feelings were making his head hurt.
Neal leaned down and picked up the fallen grocery bag. Luckily, nothing had fallen out. "I'm going to have to make a phone call. I know I don't have much, but feel free to make yourself comfortable." He spoke, standing up again and walking in, closing the door behind him. He walked over to the side of the room before turning back to her with a small smile. "I'm really happy you're here, We-Aria."
It was then that he took a moment to realize that he didn't care how she'd gotten here. All that mattered was that she was out of that place. He still wanted to know everything because there was probably something to worry about, but it wouldn't change his happiness. This was the first time since he'd arrived in this town that something had gone right.
Neal pulled out his phone and began to dial the number of the pawn shop his father worked at. When the phone stopped ringing, he assumed he answered and spoke without giving him a chance. "I need you to come over right away. I know you know where I'm staying." With that, he hung up. His words might have been harsh, but his voice was actually relatively even for talking to his father. He was beginning to forgive him, even if he hadn't realized it yet.

[attr="class","itokaytext"]Gold had been in his shop preparing the antidote for that which he had inflicted on Belle, when the phone rang. Gold sighed, hiding the supplies, lest Belle walk in and see him doing magic, before walking over to the phone, no need for a cane any more, but walking with it anyways. It was wonderful to no longer have that blasted limp. It was wonderful to have power once more. And after he cured Belle of the blasted potion he used on her, he would work on how to make Oliver, Hook, and Regina suffer as much as he possibly could. Then he would have to find a way to Neverland for the wand that would help free himself from the dagger. That was the plan, now that he had his son, and he had Belle. Once he was free from his dagger’s control, then he could be the father he wanted to be to the new baby. And he could have all the power he could ever want.
He picked up the phone and took in a deep breath as he was about to say the introduction ‘you’ve called…’ blah, blah, blah. Keeping up pretenses was important, as no one could really find out how powerful he was with this new magic. Of course, Regina would know, and Neal, and anyone who would remember would know how powerful he was, but he preferred to keep it under wraps. Though it would be nice to have people come to him for help. But he knew bringing back magic before the curse was broken was a risk. And it was a risk he was willing to make to correct his mistake. And he was finally able to make that decision.
Bae was on the other end and Gold immediately shut his mouth hearing the words from his son’s mouth. He had a feeling something like this might happen. He did just sort of drop the girl off at his place. He just expected a ‘thank you’, instead of this. Then again, he might have gotten the hint he brought magic back. What, with the purple smoke filling the town, and her magically appearing in his room. “I will be right there, Bae.” He nodded curtly before hanging up the phone. He sighed and waved his hand, disappearing in a puff of smoke, abusing the fact he had power now, using magic as much as he could, as he missed it so dearly. He knocked on Bae’s door and waited for him to open the door.
