The Rules
Oh yes, the dreaded rules. We all have to have them, but I will try to keep them short for you.
Basics1.) Respect everyone. We are here to have fun, so please don’t be mean.
2.) One character per account. I know that many people do not like this rule. However, it makes things easier and more organized as a whole. Proboards has a nice little feature where you can clicks the little button at the bottom right side of your screen and you can quickly change from account to account.
Roleplaying1.) There is a word count of 100 words, but try to keep up with your RP partner(s) in word count. We all have bad days, though, and some are not quite at the level as others. We welcome RP’ers of all experience and level, so please keep that in mind as well.
2.) No powerplaying. That means you can't say how the other person reacts, or whether or not they dodge that fireball you throw at them.
3.) Going hand in hand with powerplaying, no godmodding, which means you can't dodge every fireball thrown at you. You can't be the best at everything.
4.) The rating. As per the Proboards TOS we do not allow anything over PG-13. However, if there is an action or anything else that would be over that rating you can fade to black or time skip within the thread.
Characters1.) Please use the template.
2.) Everyone is required to have a real celebrity face claim. If you need help finding one, our staff can help you. You could also visit one of these resources for help: link link link link
3.) If a canon from the show, make sure to stick to their determined history (not necessarily future). If a character from a fairy tale not featured in the show, you can make your own twist on the tale, but make sure that others in that tale also fit with your history.
4.) Canons from both OUAT and OUATIW are allowed as well.
5.) No perfect characters. Someone can't always get every girl or guy, everyone can't love them (an argument for this being because of magic may be able to be made if the case is strong), they can't be good at everything.
6.) Since we are AU, we will allow some changes to canon characters, as long as the changes are cleared with all of those involved, and staff.
7.) If you take a canon character, please be active. Canons are always fun to play, but if you take canons and never play them, then it really makes it sad for those who wanted to play with those canons. Also, do not copy and paste anything from the wiki. Use it just for reference.
8.) If there is a character in the upcoming season set to appear, at least wait until they have been in one episode before you make them, or at the very least use the face claims that they will be within the show.
9.) That leads us to canon face claims. You HAVE to keep the established face claims from the show canon. No deviations, unless you have a really, really good reason (such as age change), and it MUST be cleared by the staff before you do it.
Your Profile1.) Your avatar should be a 150x150 image of your character.
2.) Your display name should be the name your character goes by most often otherwise known as their cursed name.
3.) The Fairy Tale Name blank (under the personal tab, towards the bottom) would be for you to put the name they were known by before the curse. If they don't have one, then just put their name there.
4.) The Story tab is where you place the title of the fairy tale or story they originated from. If they don't have one, then put Once Upon a Time. If they have multiple stories, just place one story name.
5.) The Played By blank is where you put your alias, the name you would use in the chat box.
Chat Rules1.) IC Chat is strictly non-canon and should bear NO effect on the RP. Please do not just use the box. When the activity check comes around, no posts in the IC chat will count. If this proves too much a distraction, the IC chat box may be taken away. Make sure to post in the claims so that your name is the right color, and then, put a password on the name so only you can post as your character. We don't want any random stranger controlling your character in the chat.
2.) The Tag Box is for mentioning if you've posted somewhere. This way it can help declutter the OC box.
3.) The Plot Box is for plotting out anything you wish, kind of like the plot pages but a free for all sort of format. Plot Pages are still very much important even with the box, the plot box usually for smaller things instead of full histories together and such. One can also mention their open thread that no one has replied to in the hopes of someone seeing it there as well on the Open Threads thread.
4.) The announcement box will contain links to any announcements that occur, as well as brief statements. Only staff will be able to post in these.
