feel the light shining in the dark of the night | Aria was very naïve, but that didn’t mean she was stupid, she did learn, and she remembered things very well. She was able to interpret things quickly, though sometimes her imagination took over from her logic. All the time, not really sometimes. But this was one of those times she had a hard time keep up with what was happening between Neal and his father. Something about a dagger, and killing his own dad before he could hurt anyone else. Aria knew that wasn’t Neal, or at least she believed that it wasn’t Neal to kill his dad before he did anything that would mean that he really needed to be killed. Aria doubted there was really anything that would cause his dad to really need to be killed. That seemed a bit drastic, but they both seemed to take everything so seriously, so she felt like she was the one in the wrong. Maybe she was wrong about Neal and that he wouldn’t do that. But there was something that made her feel like she knew Neal better than the one time they had met and he took her out on the boat.
Regardless, she wanted to be strong, and standing up for what she thought was part of being strong, or at least that was what she thought it meant. She wouldn’t let Neal kill his dad, regardless. The fact that his dad was accepting that fate, the fact that his dad was willing to let Neal kill him told her that he was a good man. Or at least he was trying to. Everything she had seen said that he was a good man, regardless of what he did in the past. He saved her. He was offering up his life to his son. He was willing to give her memories back to her, even if the cost was a big cost.
Aria looked at Neal, her eyes shining in the light of the room. He wanted her to be whole again. But he was willing to give up a piece of himself for her, a big piece of himself. All of his memories. She didn’t know what to think, she knew that it was a big deal, and that it was strong of him to be willing to do such a thing for him. But then he whispered to her to not trust his dad. Well, she would do as he said, even though she didn’t understand why. Aria looked at Mr. Gold with a small frown.
“I-I don’t want this either. I mean, he’s your son, I barely know him, or at least I don’t remember much about him. But... he wants to do this. So please… do what he wants.”
