Dax was walking home from his shift at the ice cream shop, and luckily is was still light out. His day had been pretty easy, and he'd only managed to get orders confused a couple of times. Luckily, the other employees seemed to expect that out of him by now, and were pretty good at catching his mistakes before the customers had a chance too. Sometimes it was amazing he kept his job. When the boss was around, he was usually lucky enough to not mix anything up. Sheer dumb luck had kept him employed.
As he walked, he was playing on his handheld Gameboy. His green eyes stayed glued to the screen as he walked. There was a level in one of his games that he had been thinking about beating all day. Now that he was out, he couldn't wait a second longer. Dax figured he had his route down packed too. This was supposed to be easy-peasy.
Not even two minutes after he started playing, he walked right into a light post and dropped his Gameboy on the ground. Normally, Dax was actually pretty coordinated, but this time his mind had been elsewhere. He frowned, starring down at it and rubbing his forehead. With a disappointed sigh, he leaned down and picked it up. That's when he looked to his right and saw a shop lined with televisions inside their front window. They were playing cartoons, and Dax couldn't keep himself from walking over to them. He shoved his Gameboy into his pocket and pressed his hands against the glass, followed by his nose. This was his all time favorite! As he watched, he couldn't help but laugh at the yellow sponge man in the show. Dax was the king of getting distracted. | 296 words open Yup. |
