| Whoa there. That was a little bit scary. Even as the sneaky little fox that Isaac was, he was a bit taken by how forward his best friend was when it came to this. No, no, he tried to convinced himself that he was wrong, and he was taking that ‘just like you’ way too seriously. That was NOT what he was trying to say, Oliver, Nibs would never say something like that ever to him, right? RIGHT?
Right, his mind assured him. Phew, at least he didn’t have to fend off advances from his best friend, because that would be awkward, just like if he took advantage of this fact that he didn’t remember and started up a relationship that wouldn’t be able to continue when they regained their memories because of his selfish, selfish feelings for Oliver. That’s right, it was just his mind warping everything that Oliver was doing. Oliver was completely innocent. It was just the dirty, in love part of his mind warping everything into seeing something he wanted to see.
“I’m far from perfect,” Isaac replied. And he did believe it. No one was perfect except for Oliver. Oliver was perfect. But he? No, he didn’t deserve the paragon of everything that he loved the most in the world. No, he was stupid, and he couldn’t even do his job of saving Oliver from hanging out with girls correctly. At least none of them seemed to put a spell on him yet. Or he was failing at that too. Isaac knew that he was jealous, and had a temper, and he was an idiot and he shouldn’t feel these feelings for his friend and he was so… dirty when it came to it. He was out of control when it came to Nibs in his imagination. He was a terrible person and he knew it. He knew that he was the worst sort of scum. His only job right now was to protect Oliver and he was obviously failing at that.
“Oh, uh, I don’t know. We could start out with video games. Move and then start tearing up the town later at night?” Isaac thought it was the most logical sequence, seeing as the cop might catch them during the day if they started tearing up the town… well, it was more likely them to get caught if during the day. And movies, Isaac believed, were weird to see during the day, so video games would have to come first. “Maybe… noon? Or is that too soon? Or too late?” He was worried that maybe Oliver would think that was too much time for a day together. Or too little. He was trying not to think with the mind of a boy in love and one of a best friend, but it was a little hard to do after years and years of it just being natural. This boy in front of him didn’t know him, and he couldn’t bear it if he did something and Oliver didn’t like him for it.
