"Yeah. Too bad." It stung a little bit to keep thinking of the man. He still felt betrayed, having had him hid all of those things from him. It was sad to think that he actually thought of him as more of a father at one point. He was glad to have him out of his life for good. So far, it didn't look he had wound up in Storybrooke. At least, he hadn't ran into him as of yet. That would be almost as hard as the confrontation he had with his father.
The scared look on her face was actually scaring Neal a little. It made him feel he was doing the wrong thing, especially if she wasn't supposed to be out here in the first place. "Lock you up again...?" His expression changed to one of sadness. Now he knew she wasn't right in the head. "Aria, you have nothing to be afraid of with me." He tried to fake a smile for her. "Would you like to go back to shore?"
He buried his head in her chest. She said she wasn't Wendy. Of course she would say that. She didn't remember ever being Wendy. The was Storybrooke. She didn't even know who he was, and here he was in front of her, someone he was afraid he would never see again. He was afraid he would never help her. And really, he still hadn't managed to. "You don't remember... but you are her." He didn't let go. He didn't want to, not just yet. "I'm sorry if I'm scaring you, but I'm going to find a way to prove this to you." He felt creepy, but he was still having trouble controlling himself in such an emotional moment. | 293 words yup. |

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | Upon realizing that Neal didn’t want to think of the guy, Aria decided it was best to drop the subject entirely. It was like her talking about the hospital or the doctors and her being crazy. Though, Aria didn’t mind talking about that sort of stuff other than the fact he doctors insisted that if she did people would be mean to her, and she hated when people were mean to her. It was always sad and made her really sad. She wanted people to be nice to her. And so she was always nice to everyone. Even if they were mean to her, mostly because she just… couldn’t even think about being any different.
Aria shook her head quickly and dropped her hands from her face. She didn’t want to go back. “No, please. I like this. I feel free. I… I don’t want to go back. They’ll just lock me back up.” And then she would be alone. She would be completely and utterly alone at that point. Even when she had been with that guy, she wasn’t usually alone, there was almost always someone with her if he wasn’t there. But in the hospital she was left alone for a long time and that was scary. She didn’t like to be alone. And out here? Out here she felt alive. She didn’t feel like she was captured still, forced to live in a small enclosed space. No, she didn’t want Neal to take her back, but she had a feeling she’d freaked him out too much to keep her out here.
Then again, here he was claiming that she was someone she wasn’t. Then again, with the amount of things wrong with her (which she knew were wrong with her because that was what the doctors said was wrong with her), amnesia could be one of those things. That would explain why it always felt so empty when she thought about her family. They could’ve been lying about her being their daughter or something. She didn’t know. “I-I… I suppose I could’ve forgotten. Did you… know… Wendy well?” She was curious about whoever he thought she was, because… why would he lie to her? There was no reason for that… right?

"Hey, hey, hey... It's okay." He couldn't quite grasp why she was freaking out. He wondered how much damage had been done to her in this world all over again, assuming that she was who he thought she was. Why couldn't anyone just give her a break? Why did it half to be like this? It really wasn't far. "I won't take you back."
Now, however, he was confused. What did she mean locked up again? Was someone still holding her prisoner? "Who's going to lock you up again?" He leaned down slightly, trying to look her straight in the eyes. If he kept his look as calm as possible, maybe he'd be able to keep her calm.
It was surprising that she seemed to be going along with this already. He forced himself to break free of her, coughing slightly, and making his way back to his seat. Still, he couldn't keep his eyes off of her. The entire thing felt intense and his eyes reflected all of his regret toward the situation. "I like to think I did. Wendy showed me more kindness than anyone else had ever shown me in my life." He smiled half-way, still trying to keep himself under control. He just couldn't believe it. She was here, right in front of him. | 218 words yup. |

feel the light shining in the dark of the night | He wasn’t going to take her back? Good. That almost made her want to cry from being so happy. She already really liked Neal, he didn’t seem to thinks he was crazy… but then again, he seemed really worried. She didn’t want to worry him, but that also meant she couldn’t lie to him right? That was what the guy who took her always told her. The truth meant that he could help her. And if she lied for him, he could also help her that way. “Thank you.” She sat back down looking out the side of the boat, biting her lower lip.
“The doctors. They think I’m crazy. They’ve been keeping me in the hospital… I don’t like it in there. It’s too… small.” They didn’t seem to understand she didn’t want to be cooped up in a building unable to leave even if it was for her own ‘safety’. She hated it. She’d spent years in a small cooped up space and she just wanted to be free, she wanted to be able to be outside and walk free, and be a normal person. That’s what she wanted more than anything else. To be a normal person and be able to do what she wanted to do whenever she wanted to.
The thing with Aria was she never knew what was really true because she was never out there. All she knew was what she felt. She didn’t think he was lying, and even if he was wrong, it would make him feel better if she was this Wendy, so for now it was no harm in indulging the possibility that she was just forgetting something. He said he would prove it to her, and if he did, then it would be better really, because then she wouldn’t be stuck with her ‘parents’ who felt fake to begin with. “She sounds… lovely. I mean… If I am her, she seems important to you, so it would be a big deal if I remembered right? Then maybe I would remember you too. And if not, then… I’m sorry that I’m not her.” Aria looked back towards him with a smile and folded her hands in her lap. “How would… you be able to prove it?”
